Terms of use

Last updated 21 May 2026

By using SOURCE Audit you agree to the terms below. They're written in plain English on purpose. If a clause feels weird, email [email protected] and we'll talk it through.

1. Free to use, no warranty

SOURCE Audit is provided free of charge on a best-effort basis. No service-level agreement, no uptime guarantee, no promise that any specific feature will keep working. If we change or shut down the tool, we'll do our best to give notice — but we don't owe it to you.

2. Rate limits

  • Per IP: 5 audits per hour, 20 per day.
  • Per domain: 3 audits per hour (across any IP).
  • Sustained abuse → IP block. Repeated abuse → ASN block.

3. Acceptable use

  • Audit sites you own or have explicit permission to audit. Don't run unauthorised audits as a competitive intel tool against rivals — it still costs us API credits and rate-limit headroom.
  • Don't try to defeat the rate limiter (rotating IPs, headless scripts, distributed harvesting).
  • Don't scrape report URLs at scale. They're individually shareable, not a public dataset.
  • Don't try to DDoS the API or the frontend. We're a small team. We'll notice and we won't appreciate it.

4. Audit results are guidance, not gospel

The Source Score and Quick Wins are a mix of programmatic heuristics and LLM analysis. They reflect best-current-practice for AI-driven search visibility. They do not guarantee rankings, citations, or business outcomes. Use the report to direct attention, not as a contract about what fixes will or won't work.

5. Removal of audits

We honour legitimate removal requests within 7 business days. Submit via the remove form. We reserve the right to deny obviously abusive requests (e.g. removing a competitor's audit because you didn't like their score).

6. No liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StudioHawk is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential business outcomes arising from your use of SOURCE Audit — including but not limited to revenue lost, ranking changes, AI citation changes, or decisions made on the basis of the report. The Australian Consumer Law guarantees that cannot be excluded still apply where they apply.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the tool changes (new features, new rate limits, new third-party services). The latest version on this page applies. Material changes will be flagged in the tool's release notes.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sydney.
